Welcome to the community. The Program you are running is Solidworks Composer Player you can create models in it. It's a free utility to see the composer files. If you want to run create something then you should open the Solidworks 2017 Icon

does it make any difference where he got it from??
as long as he got valid licence
that's window of Composer Player - for viewing the files.
To create files in Composer it requires licence - it's not included with SolidWorks.
