I face a problem combining two solid bodies. Can anybody solve it?
Not sure why this works. I was just digging into this and unexpectedly got to to combine. Wanted to see if SurfaceCut1 would combine to Body-Move/Copy2.. It does that fine. I suppressed your Combine1 then combined those two.
Then unsupressed Combine1 and it seems to workout. ???
Thanks for the response.
I don't know why I can't do this by Solidworks 2016.
I combine two parts by a extrude boss and merge result.
It does seem to be a hit or miss thing. Tried that again and had some difficulties. I'm going to look into this some more and see if we can come up with a sure fire way. Maybe moving some faces on the thicken4?? In the mean time here is my 2016 file. I do have VOR on and have sliced it up looking for voids but haven't found any problems yet.
..yeah,.. for me to get this to work,.. I have to match the top gap surface (replace face) with the top of the mounting plate.. and combine the ports with the gap and then combine the mounting plate.... it's as if, the two ports are not planar (but they are)?
..anyhow, I'd do this different and/or not do it line/line (surface/surface).. it will bite you later, imho.
..so, over-extend material.
Yeah,,, That's (how do you say in English),, Kewl...
