I am preparing to take the CSWP-MM Exam next week, and took the practice exam in preparation. I have no prior knowledge of mold making apart from some YouTube videos and the SolidWorks tutorials. I finished the practice test in about 30 minutes, and got all 4 questions right, but it took some on-the-fly learning to resolve the parting line on the straddle face and create a side core.
How does the difficulty of the practice test prepare me for the real thing? Should my ad-lib success be enough to get me through the real test? If not, what are some important techniques that I should be learning to prepare?
Thanks in advance
Hello,
Although I haven't taken this particular exam, of the ones I have taken, I can say that all of the practice exams were helpful.
What I can say for certain is that SW puts on each exam's bullet list is what you will be tested on:
There are no "surprises". Learn each item on the list so that you're fluent in a timely manner.
Confidence in all of these items is your best offense and your best defense.
You mentioned that you were able to adapt, but you didn't state how timely you were in doing so.
I'm confident that there will be some deduction on your part, especially if the question count is relatively small, then most likely some of the questions will be multi-discipline.
Anyhow, all the best to you come exam time.
Cheers,
Kevin
