Does anyone have an appearance for realistic welds? looking for stainless steel welds
I think your best bet is to model the weld beads in Solidworks or whatever your source modeler is. That's what I did here.
Dave this looks great. Did you pattern a circle everywhere? This doesn't look productive...
Yes, create one weld bead then pattern along a curve.
You're right its not productive. But, it produces the best looking results which was my goal.
It will also add a lot of weight to your files like modeling threads. Not bad if your part or assembly isn't too large though.
Looks great but yes... patterned features can really drive up rebuild time, and cause crashes.
Looks awesome. Unfortunately it's too perfect
At the end I used texture that's from solidworks. It's a bit weird because you have to make view 45° to the corner in order to see texture perfectly otherwise it shifts the texture. A bit weird. Once I end my vacation I'll try to show.
"Looks Awesome. Unfortunately it's too perfect " I understand. Yes, it is time intensive and a method that is not very Productive. But the results are hard to beat. And I'm retired now and only render for fun these days.
Yes, just some textures.
looks good. the green part needs some more amps at the end of the weld
I would have to agree, as I have noticed that also.... Those welds would probably never pass inspection. But, they are pretty close I believe.
