Is there a way to assign a video to a texture - animate an led screen?
Is there anyway to assign a texture position to a key frame?
This is really easy in C4D or 3ds max, but would be great in visualize!
Hi Tango Charlie, we are currently working on this feature and are planning to release it with 2019 (available some time in 3rd quarter of 2018)!
Hi, which feature are you working on?
The ability to load movie files as textures?
Or the ability to animate texture positions?
Hello Tango, currently we can use videos as textures at 2019 Beta. You can also download and try it yourself. Cheers.
We are working on being able to load videos for decals. The position and orientation of a decal (video or normal image based) can be animated as well.
Thus, the answer to your question is: Both (but not for textures in general but for decals only).
So will i be able to apply an emissive material using a video as the texture to a surface of an object -such as a tv screen? I want to be able to render an animation and have the video texture play. Will this be possible in 2019?
Amazing!!! You have made my day.
In solidworks motion study you can also animate shape changing... I wonder about visualize... actually what would happen with animation if you imported it.
The shape change is not supported in Visualize currently. I believe it would import and parts would move but anything that "deforms" would not. It would just remain its original shape.
