Hello, I am considering to buy a MacBook Pro 2018. The 13" has Intel Iris Pro Graphics 655 while the 15" has Radeon Pro 555X or 560X. Any of these compatible with Realview? Are the Iris Pro Graphics 655 or 555X good enough for general use?
You can search through a list of certified graphics card for use with SOLIDWORKS hers - Graphics Card Drivers | Hardware & System Requirements | SOLIDWORKS
Neither of the cards you mentioned are listed as be certified. This doesn't mean that SW will not run but that there may be graphical or performance issues. I'm unsure if RealView graphics will work with either of those cards but I would definitely avoid the intel graphics for a start.
I have both a 2017 MacBook Pro with the Discrete Radeon card and a brand new 2018 13 inch
both have bootcamp and will run solidworks under windows, the 13 inch has some caveats unless its run through the eGPU and then its simply awesome, you will find once the cad model gets to a certain size the iris is not really cut out for cad work however the 15 inch has no problems whatsoever even with larger cad models , and the speed it will load the assemblies is actually better than my dell precision tower.
realview will not work without the radeon wx7100 card in the eGPU , or a Quadro card which you can get to work but needs a bit of faffage...the radeon works straight out of the box
I just bough a Macbook 15 inch and did some research on how to enable Realview on solidworks. Because it does not have a licensed graphics card, the only way is through Real Hack. It works on solidworks 2018.
Here's the link to the video where the guy explains how to proceed :
