Record Loading and Non-Productive Time

Convincing a company to invest in better and newer technology is always a challenge for designers.

Is there any way I can record the loading times and non-productive times (i.e. when SW is switching configurations, opening files, rebuilding...etc.) in SW?

I can use this data to show management that it is worth investing in better systems.

For example - in an 8hr workday, if I'm waiting for Solidworks to respond and staring at my screen for 2-3hrs - and I can extract this data.

I can show management that 1/3rd of the time they are paying someone for is wasted.
