"Up to Surface" Swept Cut?

Hello SW Forums,

I'm trying to terminate a thread on a perpendicular surface. This is very easy to do when using the thread tool SolidWorks has, there is an "Up to Surface" tool similar to when you're creating a plain old extrusion, but for this application I need to do a swept cut with a custom defined helix. I have the helix length set to the length between the beginning of the thread and the perpendicular face, but this causes the thread to cut into the perpendicular face and creates other unintended geometry. If I make it shorter, then it doesn't fully terminate and I'm just punching in numbers until something looks good, which is not good practice.

Any tips on this? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I cannot use cosmetic threads for this application.
