Attached is a single assembly driven part. Edit plane 1 or 2 in the assembly, the sheet metal part will update.
Except the cross break will not update. Any idea's on how to edit the cross break sketch in a way it will update when the assembly planes move?
This is what I am trying to avoid. I want the cross break to update automatically like the rest of the part when a plane moves.
This is just one piece of a larger puzzle. I created this model just to show the problem isolated from other issues but in context of what causes the problem.
I'm not sure why there is a problem when the cross break endpoints are coincident with the mid point of the arcs but If I make the endpoints coincident with an end of the arc it seems to update ok.
Think you could get away with that??
I can get away with that. The cross break is just shown in concept. Not used to automate a bending machine. The point of a cross break is just to show a few bending line in the flat pattern.
The "Problem" with this part is that the way the bend's don't really have an end point. The way the part is cut in the flat then re-bent allows me to get the corner notching as desired, but that also prevent the bend notes from showing up at all.
None of the sheet metal corner command turn out the same flat. By working the corners this way, I can unbend with maximum allowable sheet in the corner, then manually trim what is not wanted in the flat. All other methods of corner construction don't allow as much material down the corner it's self.

One thing I don't like with Sheet Metal features is that the sketches do not fully define themselves, to have fully defined sketches in Sheet Metal, you need to edit the Sketches and lock down the sketch, so in your part I edited the Crossbreak sketch and added relations by dragging the end point to the center of the radius and when it locked I dropped it.
As I said somewhere you have a circular rebuild or it would rebuild cleanly without opening the sketch...
I think I see what you are getting at now. I had to do a ctrl q a couple of times in the virtual part and again in the assembly. Then go back and forth from the v part to the assembly before crossbreak showed correctly. Definitely buggish.. Even tried saving the virtual part out but that didn't help.
What is "bugish" or circular about the part?
The part is 100% defined (other than the cross issue).
Yes the Part is defined by the assembly. I do this so that many parts can be adjusted from the same assembly plane.
I make "re-sizable" tanks out of sheet metal.
Note:
When using this lid in context, I inset of the bounding planes by a radius and thickness so that the part is inside another piece of sheet metal that both varies in thickness and overall size.
I wasn't saying that your part is bugish. The software is being bugish. I think we all expect it (the crossbreak) to rebuild but it isn't unless we slap it around a bit.
This is what I am trying to figure out. It sounds like it can be done if the cross break is not exactly is the correct position.
I was hoping for a solution that would both update, and be exactly right.
Yet another issue between reel world and CAD. The underlying problem is that the part when bent, does not really like like the CAD model in the corners.
I deleted your original CrossBreak and redid it under your first Base Flange instead it seem to work, you see below
Scott Leacox - One thing I did was edit the Cross Break2 Sketch and apply the sketch relations to the center of the bend area
Then there is a circular rebuild issue going on here - To have it rebuild properly you need to edit the Cross Break2 sketch and then close, then rebuilds ok...
