I have a step file which I opened in SW and this icon is on all parts and assemblies. I could not find what it means.
It's a 3D Interconnect part, if you broke the link you could modify as you need
I believe that icon indicates that SW is opening a non-native file (in this case a .step file). In previous versions of SW, it would open these files and automatically convert them to SW files so you could manipulate them. Now it doesn't take that extra step (no pun intended) and allows you to manipulate the raw .step file. It will do this with a number of other non-native file types as well.
On second thought, I guess I did intend that pun...

What does this icon mean?
Hi i have the same problem.
Does anyone know how to open this individual 3D Interconnect part or sub-assembly then?
I would like to use it the old fashion way [.....] import STEP file and get 100 part-files and dozen assembly-files.
This way i can only open the necessary sub-assembly or part.
Oeps, found it myself.
Changed settings for import / General settings.
Now imported step-files save all individual parts and assembly's.
