Solidworks 2017 SP4.1

I have a sheet metal component that I have created. It is a converted sheet metal part - which I don't normally do (I usually just draw it in sheet metal). After inserting the part into the drawing and turning on the bend lines - I have no bend notes and the option for them to be displayed is greyed out in the property box.
