One of my customer had more files as their old cad product. Recently they become our customer. They have a query that , " is there anyway to edit Solidedge Assembly file in Solidworks?".
You can import those files as imported bodies and try feature recognition tool OR use direct editing tool to modify them.
There is an add-in/tool available called ELYSIUM which might be able to convert the files.
I will try this using evaluation copy
Yes. It is called SolidWorks 3D Interconnect. This is from the Help file:
3D Interconnect replaces SOLIDWORKS current translation capabilities with new technology and workflows for working with third-party native CAD data in SOLIDWORKS 2017.
.ipt (V6 – V2018)
.iam (V11 – V2018)
CATIA® V5-SOLIDWORKS Translator is available with a SOLIDWORKS Premium license.
One more doubt in this rply.. They can edit the features of solidedge models in solidworks
Do you want to edit some operattion like holes or thickness? Maybe you must to import it, break the link to the file and then after use Featureworks to recognize all the operations ....
But edit directly from the tree of operations from Solidedge you don't
whole assembly file I want to edit like solidedge in Solidworks. Is it possible
Direct on Solidworks you don't, Deepak Gupta talk about an addin and at this case you could. Ask him about this one. Maybe you can buy it and work as usual you need.
See it by yourselft
