Is it possible to add multi-line text in Composer 2016?
Check the wrap box property. It's located right underneath the text string box. See screenshot below.
Yes, the easiest way would be probably to use a label and remove the attachment if not needed. You would then simply double double click the text string property or click on the 3 dots to the right of the property and enter as much text as you like. You could also do the same thing using Text 2D.
Using a Label I see the 3 dots and where to put in any amount of text. And I see that I can set the Attach type to None.
I can also control the size and font and color. But how do I control the area that it uses? In other words, how do I get one long line of text to wrap into multiple lines?
In Composer 2017 see this option for Labels, but not for 2D Text.
Is this a newer feature, or if I am missing something? I'd love to be able to resize and wrap 2D text but I can't find the option anywhere.
This should also be possible in 2017 Version. The properties for the label see above post from Derek.
The wrap text in a 2D text field you have to click directly in the text field. After clicking a cursor will appear and you can wrap text with clicking "Enter" to get lines as much as you need. I attach a screenshot. Sorry that this is only in German.
The first one is a label. The wraps are made using the properties.
The second one is a 2D text. For getting the lines I clicked directly in the text and used "Enter".
Hope this helps.
In 2D text, see this option in Properties:
Click the three dots, and you will get this Text box.
