Hello All,
I'm currently using solidworks 2016 sp5
I have question about the 2D sketch.
So the situation is,
If I had an Assembly with few sub-assembly, and parts.
I made a sketch on main assembly and want to use in all sub-assembly and parts.
Two ways I know are,
Case 1. copy sketch and paste into sub-assembly or part.
Case 2. make new sketch in sub-assembly or part, and use convert entity.
But After I make final model, if change something they may get some inconvenience.
In Case 1, there will be no error, but I have to change all the entities in sub-assembly or part.
In Case 2, if I change something, other than deleting or adding new entities, it works perfect. All the entities follows the main sketch, but as soon as I delete any entity, it causes an error.
So, I'm wondering if there is a way, I can make a linked sketch between main assembly and sub-assembly and parts, so even though if I add or delete entities, it directly applies to sketches that are linked.
Please help me with it.
Thank you
I've only used this workflow a time or two, but you might consider having the sketch in a stand-alone Part, and insert it into each of the other Parts. Even then, if you delete entities, and there are features that reference the deleted entities, you're going to get errors. I'm not aware of any workflow where that won't be true.
