DISABLE AUTOMATIC MATE IN ASSEMBLY ON PART INSERTION

Hello, I have an issue that I can't find any forum topics on.  The situation: I have an assembly open, and I want to insert a part. I launch the "Insert Part" dialog box and choose the part to insert, then hover my cursor where I want to part to roughly be dropped.    The problem is that I cannot figure out how to just drop the part without it automatically mating where I click the cursor.  This is extremely annoying that SW is guessing what mates I want, then I have to go back and delete them.  It is especially annoying when I want to use drag-duplicate many times in a row and the duplicate automatically mates wherever it feels like it.    I cannot find the setting to disable this behavior.

Thanks!
