Is there another way to log off, apart from restarting my computer!
Try to select work offline then the icon appears again
I don't know your familiarity with windows.....
Are you aware of the hiding of different system tray icons? Normally, you can show them using the ^ carat that shows up.
I am not using PDM, but this was the first thing that came to mind. Is it simply hidden in the flyout menu?
(this image is from Windows 10, but Windows 7 has something similar).
In the Windows Task Manager, kill the explorer.exe process, click 'File...New Task(Run)', type explorer in the dialog box and click 'OK'.
You can always kill your Windows Explorer. I made a little batch file since I do this quite often. Or you can just go into your Task Manager, kill it and then start it from the File > Run new task menu > Explorer.exe
Taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F

Do you want to have the PDM icon appeared back on the system tray or you want to log off without restarting your computer?
i have since restarted my machine but next time I lose it I will refer back here to your suggestions.
Christian - I want the icon back when i lose it.
Dan, yes it would usually be seen when you expand to show hidden icons
Check "Option three" on the website: Windows 10 Help Forums
Unfortunately, I have Polish language enable and I cannot provide you english screenshots directly.
having an issue with a dead PDM icon in taskbar I came across this thread.
I have solved the issue for myself by killing "EdmServer.exe" task in Taskmanager/details. That results in complete shutdown of PDM and once you re-open a file explorer where your local PDM vault is (at least for me) automatically poped-up the log-in window. Once logged back in, the icon reappeared in taskbar fully operational.
I would check this as the right answer.
