creating configuration from single sketch. Please help!!

I am troubling with configurations. I have a sketch with 3 closed contour. I want to create 3 configurations. all of them using extrude feature but single closed contour. I tried changing contour selection in each confi and marked on this configuration. However single change is getting reflected in every conf. Can anyone help me?

Here, changes made in selected contour in conf.2 is reflected in conf.1 as well. after i press okay in conf.2, my resulting conf.1 becomes like shown below

can someone help me? I am preparing for CSWP segment 2.

I don't know if this is the correct way but you could do 3 separate extrudes

  yup, creating three extrude would work. But that creat complications as well. I need to suppress two two extrude in each conf.

    Hi Nisarg
    I don't see three extrudes that share a sketch as complicated. The opposite in fact as when viewing the feature tree it will be obvious what is happening in each configuration,, especially if you rename the faetures.
    
    If you were to configure the sketch regions, it may be one feature, but can you or someone else readily understand what is happening.

  it it is not possible at now. Dassault Systems should introduce this feature in release. It would make modifying parts a lot easier.

Here is a part with a single sketch defining 2 (or more) configurations. It's little finicky to get set-up but once you figure out the technique (do's and don't s), you may find it useful in other applications.

I have several (proprietary) parts where this sketch method has allowed design intent to be better defined by using a single sketch combined with if/then/else in design tables or equations.

    I'm on SW2018 and can't upload a 2017 part so here are screen images. It's not the best method but it's the only way that I have found.
    With this type of sketch, flip flopping when switching configurations is less likely if you use an angular dimension "using an imaginary line".

        Your quick response indicates that you didn't even try so I'm not going to take the time to make an instructional video. Start simple with an angled line for the first configuration and make that same line colinear in the second configuration by changing the dimension Primary Value to This Configuration then change the Primary Value to a different angle. One by one get the remaining lines to change the way you want. Save after every successful completion of a step. Don't create a protrusion until the sketch behaves as expected when switching back and forth between different configurations.

  Nope. it is not possible as the sketch is shared with each confi. Design table is the only way to modify sketch(for dimension only).

Hey buddy, you are expecting something that the "Configurations" in SolidWorks by its definition cannot do! You can configure a part or assembly by having some features active and some suppressed. But, you can't configure a feature within itself for all I know. I wish it could do what you are asking of it. So that's the direct answer to your questions.

As for the CSWP, don't worry about that, the questions won't be like that. In this case for example, you will need, as you mentioned yourself, to suppress two of the features in each configurations.
