Sorry for the blatant topic heading...

I am creating a gauge face for a pressure gauge. I need to have certain parts of the face in different colors (green, yellow, red on a white background). I have been trying to do this by changing the face color after extruding or cutting by .001" but it is getting increasingly difficult for some reason.

Is there not a way that I can create a sketch on the face to represent all the areas, close the sketch and then hatch/fill those areas separated by the sketch? AND have it show up this way on a drawing as well?
