I am preparing sketches for lofting an aircraft fuselage.
some of the sketch planes are co planar to the original "front" plane, this works well because I need to dimension the top and bottom of the sketches relative to the top plane or global origin.
Other sketch planes though are not co planar to the original front, these seem to have their own sketch origin which does not align horizontally to the original top plane or origin. These sketches do not allow me to create dimensions to the original top plane or origin, they want to choose the sketch origin which does not give me the dimensions I need.
How can I get the sketch origin to be horizontally aligned with the original origin? i.e. be planar to the top plane? you can see in the screenshot that the red origin point is well above the blue one. In this sketch, I can't dimension from any of the sketch lines to the "top" plane or the blue origin point. That is what I need to do.
I have also heard here that one can not dimension to a sketch origin (the red triad) but as you can see in the screen shot that is not true.
I hope I have explained this well enough to be understood!
Thanks
