I needed to modify and render some models that were made using SW18. Since I have SW14, the other person converted the SW files to STEP files so I could open them. The problem is that when he converts the models to STEP format they lose their textures. For example, he used Satined Plastic for most of parts, but when either of us open the STEP file all the parts kept their colors, but they how have the default "Color" appearance. Is there a way to fix this?

In theory, if I had SW18 we wouldn't have this problem because I could simply open the SW files and everything should be fine, right?

And also, my client wants to make sure that the SW files the other guy made have the correct textures because, well, she doesn't trust him a lot (so if someone with SW18 opens it all the parts will have the texture he applied) but since I can't open them in SW, she wants to know if there's a way to check that with SW14, eDrawings or any other way. I can't send them to someone else to check because of non-disclosure agreement.

Sorry for the long question, hope someone can help me out here
