Pseudo exploded view configurations require distance or angle mates that otherwise might not be needed. This method would not be my 1st choice but I've had issues with SW standard exploded views that force me to delete and recreate them.
If you have to delete/recreate a SW standard exploded view, it's likely you will have to delete and recreate a lot of detailed drawing views if they were previously completed. With pseudo exploded views, sometimes mates fail when the part or assembly is modified but I've found fixing the mates is painless and opening then immediately closing the design table will update the exploded view.
