Can I change an appearance type in an animation?

    Nete Jakobsen

I haven't been able to find a solution for this online, so here goes.

Can I change an appearance type in an animation? I have no issue with changing the colour and attributes of the specific appearance. But if I try to go from metal to an emissive type, it changes all prior keyframes to the newly selected appearance type.

My goal is to highlight an element by making it glow, and go back to normal metallic again. Is this possible?

This is visually what I want to achieve (photo and photoshop)

          Hi Nete

i think this is a limitation at the moment, would be worth raising an enhancement request or if there is one already attaching yourself to an existing one via the customer portal

one workaround i can think of is to copy the part make one version emissive and then use opacity to hide it, then during the animation fade that one in and hide the original using the opacity settings.
