Hello Peter,.. is it also counting-updating configurations?
Are some of the components "opened" if they load lightweight?
I don't have 2018 here. So, I can't see if I can reproduce your results with one of my assemblies. Can you pack and go and send it off to your VAR?
This is new functionality and there may be some bugs that need to be worked out. But, I am very happy with the idea of this tool and even though I'm a big ONE and TWO advocate, this attention to what is opening and how long it takes directly affects me. So, I like that they are working on it.
So Peter, are there any rebuild errors in this assembly? Are there top level assembly features that might be slowing it down? The reason I ask is that I was understanding that the total number that shows up first is the assembly file attributes before any components are opened and checked. Which brings another question, are all the files in the current SW version?
There are many reasons why that logic may be misunderstood...
It would be great if you could share your assembly so I can:
- Provide an explanation
- Check if we can improve this to give a more accurate up-front component count
If so, please report it via your VAR and ask them to provide the SR number, then I can check on that internally.
Without seeing your assembly, my best guess is that a sub-assembly has had additional components added to it after the top level assembly was saved.
I'm keen to figure this one out for you, so hopefully you can share the model.
I'll make sure to send it off to our VAR with all necessary files included. When I do I'll make sure to ask for an SR number and mention it on here.
