Is there a Macro that can convert Excel table to SolidWorks native table?
The Excel table has many data, i need to convert these data to a SolidWorks native table, so i need a Macro, who can help me?
I think this would be a useful macro for the community. So I have written one. You can get the code here: Write Data From Excel Table Into General Table .
Could you attach your file?
There is no need a sample file, because any Excel file is ok to use as a sample.
such as Excel file-->Macro-->native table
I guess you're not ref. to design table, but general in the dwg instead
if yes, here is the help
Hi, Mr. Chu
Your content is right but i can't write vba, i think still need some codes read from Excel and transfer to native table.
it's best to search over the forum to find one you need as I'm not sure if someone has time to write the whole program for you
or you can contact Keith Rice
Keith Rice is the guy.
Have you tried writing this macro?
I can't write vba, because i am a designer bot a programmer like other vba professor.
I have been looking for something like this for a very very long time! Thank you for sharing that!
I only just wish that solidworks had the capability to have the values "linked" so that if something in the design table changed, the table would change as well.
Take a look at this discussion: Automatically run macros on rebuild (e.g. update general table linked to excel)
In the second part of the video it show how to achieve linked functionality.
Just to offer up a small tweak:
Create user form with the following controls:
Add the following code.
Feel free to teak with better conventions but it gets the point across.
Opps need to pull the show out of the loop.
