For some reason my hole callouts are not displaying quantities. Is there a setting somewhere I am missing?
Please check if you have calloutformat.txt located in <install_dir>\solidworks\lang\<language>
I do have that file and I double checked to make sure Solidworks was looking to the correct file location.
running 2018 and got the same issue. I also have the callout file and its made no difference.
Are the points in the same sketch?
For the most part, yes.
Dennis,,, Are you using the Hole Wizard to make your holes?.. The screenshot below has identical size holes. The top five are cut-extrudes and the lower 6 are Hole Wizard holes.
Yes I have used the hole wizard for everything.
I'm wondering if perhaps somewhere along the line someone has removed the <NUM_INST> from the dimension text and it stuck for new callouts??? Just a guess.. If you click on Callout Variables do you get "Count".. If so try clicking on it or just type it into Dimension Text.
So what I have discovered is that the parts the quantity are not displaying for are parts of a weldment that have been inserted in to new parts, then had drawings made. The holes were added in the original model. If I insert the body in to a new part THEN add the holes, the quantity shows up in the drawing. Not sure why that is or how to get around the issue...
So why do you not model part as one weldment instead of inserting parts? (At least where I work) when a part is inserted, it has it's own part number and drawing.
I'm just modeling from the top down. Start as one weldment and then break out subassemblies and so forth as needed. Just leaves one model to make changes to. Just seems hole callout info does not transfer to the new parts.
