Hi,
I am looking for a way to save a screen capture (for any file I'm working on) to a master folder, with an ascending file name, possibly even linked to today's date (ex. ScreenCapture_2018-05-07_11_19) so that it doesn't overwrite any of the previous screengrabs. Then I can go through all the screen grabs and deal with them appropriately at the end of the day.
The reason for this is I have a large model that is under constant change, so I want before and after pictures without having to have infinite configurations, etc. The current way to do this is too clumsy, I just want to be able to click a button or keyboard shortcut.
I know it's not technically a SW solution but the free program called Greenshot does just this. You can set it up to save a copy of all screen grabs to a folder automatically and it's very intuitive. It is linked to the Print Screen button and then allows you to drag an area like the snipping tool to generate a screen grab. Alt-PrintScr gets you just the application you're active within and skips the box-selection step.
