I need to draft the outside boss extrusion down at a 25 degree angle, however I cannot figure out how. Is draft even the right mechanism?
Are you talking about the hex part of it?
You can change on this
Or use draft angle
No, I apologize, I was talking about a downward slant on the rounded protrusion.
If you mean the hex portion, as I assume you do, you can do that when you're setting the extrude parameters. Click on the feature and choose the "Edit feature" icon, then click on the icon shown below and enter the desired value.
As other mentioned, you can either add draft in the extrude feature or use drat feature to add seperalty
You should be able to apply a draft to just that face you want to draft down. But why 25°? I am assuming this is a school project...
No just doing SW exercises on my own, got stuck with this draft thing.
I'm actually looking to slant the face on the outside rounded protrusion down 25 degrees, the draft tool seems to kick out all the faces
As you've probably seen, adding draft to the existing function, with the parameters as it is now, will close up the hole. I'd suggest extruding the hole also. See below.
Then use the same sketch to create the hole without draft.
By the way, I chose "Up to Surface" as the end condition instead of "Blind". That way if the height of the other extrude changes this one will update to match.
(Notice the sketch icon will have the hand in it. That indicates that a single sketch is shared by multiple features.)
I apologize again I didn't expllain correctly what I was trying to do. Here is the finished model-
