First I've not Deepak's tool you referred to. Kindly share link.
Secondly, it's just fine the way it is. If you could save as STP as it is, I'd just be fine.

But I have a challenge different than what is in that Deepak's tutorial.
I can not open that file because I run an earlier version. That's why I want those who can open it simply do the exporting for me.
That's basically it.
Open-SaveAs (STP).

Hello Jide,... just a fyi,.. if you have a earlier version, the best/neutral/preferred format to use is "Parasolid" ..it is SolidWorks native kernel (no translation needed)
(see attached x_t and sldprt (2017))
Did you use the tool of Deepak Gupta it works fine.....let me see a little.....
OK here one reason....your file it isn't a solid file...try to fix it first and the after export as STP/ XT solid file
