Hello SOLIDWORKS Power-Users and welcome to the 15th SWPUC.
The challenge is again very, very simple.
For 5,000 points and eternal glory create a multibody part. You will be the winner, if your part has the biggest number of solid bodies. Surface bodies do not count.
Conditions:
- You will upload a part file by replying in this thread, or, if the file is too large, by uploading it HERE. Please use your name for the file name.
- In the uploaded model, all solid bodies will be set to shown (hidden bodies do not count in this challenge)
- All bodies will be created by using SOLIDWORKS features (no imported geometry allowed)
- In your post, please include a screen shot of the Performance Evaluation report showing the number of bodies:
Please submit your entries no later than 5 pm EDT on Friday, the 25th of May, 2018.
If you are wondering why I care about number of bodies in a SOLIDWORKS part, this is because I got exposed to several cases where the slow-down in a large assembly was not due the large number of graphics-triangles, or number of faces. It was not even about complexity of shape, but just the sheer number of bodies. Now, I need to do a more rigorous research on this. Thank you for your help!
