I've just started using 2018 on Win 10. Was using 2012 on Win 7 before.
Whenever I do something minor (for example, I've just deleted an assembly-level sketch that had nothing referenced to it) SW churns away for 2-3 minutes.
This never happened on 2012.
I've got a decent PC - Core i7 processor, 32GB RAM, 4 GB Nvidia GPU...
Any ideas of stuff to check?

Oh Boy. We are doing the same exact thing this weekend with new systems just like yours. This is not comforting.....
No ideas here. I went from SW2017 on Win 7 to SW2018 on Win 10, and haven't noticed any slowdown. Have you contacted your VAR to see if they can remote in and track down the problem?
Not yet, no. Interesting you haven't seen any slow down....

The only slowdown that I've noticed was (until yesterday) save as PDF taking a very very large amount of time.
Now due to MS updates, er'thing in this club getting iffy.
Have you checked to see what resources Win 10 is running/using in the background?

Hello J.H.,... personally, Windows 7 and 2012 were FASTER.. and unfortunately, Windows 10 and 2018 are SLOWER. yep... sorry, it is true and it does not make me any happier either.
oh,..as a independent/sole proprietor for >25yrs.. I had to charge more because of it... again.. yep.. so much fun... two steps back, one step forward.
..and,.. why isn't this a issue?... weel,.. bcuz, the majority of users do NOT pay for the software/hardware/training,... and get paid regardless....(not my problem)
Thanks - very disappointing to hear that... I'm amazed at how much slower though... I'd estimate something that took 5-10 seconds before now takes maybe 30-40 seconds...
Hello J.H.,... before all the zealots jump all over me,.. there "could be" other issues which "could be" causing the degradation and "maybe" a simple remedy or improvement is available?
BTW,.. to also cool the zealots,.. there are some features/functions/routines which you may use which may improve performance... but do they offset the overall compare of W7-SW2012 vs W10-SW2018.. no.
So.. without knowing specifics,.. what features/functions/routines are you witnessing/consistently with poor performance?
Do you have example files which can be shared/compared?
Also.. before I forget,.. has you VAR been involved?... I mean, someone here is going to say it and to be fair.. it is the "only" way for issues to get logged for SW Corp to evaluate.
