How to map CAD model attributes with the CAD drawing attributes

    Swapnil Ballal

      Hi All,

I am new to SolidWorks and would like to know the way:-

If I have some attribute"newattr" in the CAD model attributes and I want the value of this attribute should flow to corresponding drawing as well. Can anyone assist me as to how to create this linking?

      Regards,

      Swapnil Ballal

Welcome to Solidworks, and to the forum.  When you said "attribute" I assume you mean you've assigned a custom property to the Part, and want to link to that property in the Drawing?  If yes, it's a simple process.  Start the Note command, then go to the Note Property Manager and click on the "Link to Property" icon.  That will bring up the dialog box shown below, which will allow you to link to the property.  If the property changes in the Part it will update in the Drawing.  Be aware that "Current document" will likely be selected by default.  You'll probably need to select "Model found here" instead, then select the appropriate options from the drop-downs.
