I want to model a cut with a ball end mill. The path is a U shape with two 90 degree angles, which is what the machined tool path will look like when the tool is moved in the X ais, then Y axis, then in the X axis again.
I can do a swept cut using a profile of the end mill, and the corners of the sweep are sharp, not radiused such as they would be when milling with a ball end mill. When I put a radius in the corners, the feature fails because at any radius that approaches the actual radius of the tool, the radius is too small.
So I attempt a solid sweep, and the solid sweep path is invalid because "Path must be fully tangent continuous in solid sweep".
What would be the best practice for creating a ball end mill tool path on a right angle sketch line?
