I need to show the path of a web for a machine and can't figure out how else to do it but combine a series of 2D sketches with 3D sketches and then sweep the result. Up to this point, I have simply had to create an in-place 2D sketch using the machine's rollers, but now I have to redirect the web as can be seen in the attached part model. In this model, the web redirection is the twist shown by 3DSketch2 connecting web_edge1a with web_edge2a and web_edge1b with web_edge2b.

There doesn't seem to be a way to trim the connected circles in the context of the 3D lines as there is on a plain with lines in that 2D sketch, so I figure that this method of producing a 3D path to be used for a sweep is not supported.

1. Is there a way to trim the circles to the 3D lines?

2. If not, what is the intended method to produce a sweep that would precisely fit the machine's web path?

At first I see two possible ways. I know neither are perfect, but they are fast and maybe good enough depending on your application.

One is to create an additional sketch, including som help lines and trim the circle.

The other is to twist the two path lines so they in reality form a plane figure. They can then be filleted.
