how do you get rid of the the Windows desktop search ?Chuck Riedesel wrote:
I have a similar situation. Recently switched to 64 bit Vista and the 64 bit version of SW. PDM checkin causes of search of my toolbox, feature palette and work area. As it is searching, I see it searching the same folders over and over again, apparently for each part in the assembly. Been at it for over an hour already and still going.
I was told by tech support that the SW search is tied to Windows search so we tried setting options for that. The toolbox was listed in the search paths but was grayed out so could not uncheck it. Hovering the cursor over the path resulted in a message that it could not be unchecked because it had not been added to the index. R-Click on the toolbox in Explorer and index it, it said. I did that then went back and unchecked it from search locations. Did no good. Still searching everything. This is driving me nuts.
