No. I dont agree with Deepak. This confusion can best be sorted in terms of FEM. Displacement is movement of a node due to application of some BC. Deformation is cumulative Displacement. For Eg, suppose on a linear Bar, there are 10 nodes. At node 1, we get what is known as displacement. But at Node 10, we get deformation. ie, disp @ node 1 + disp @ node 2+.......disp @ node 10 = deformation. I hope I am clear.
