I'm not sure what's going on here, but ever since putting 2017 on my new laptop, it asks me to do this Data update EVERY time I start SWE.
I've gone through it a bunch of times, updated everything, updated nothing, canceled it, and everything else I can think of. But sure enough, next time I start it, the first thing it does it ask me again. Anyone know how to get it to stop this?
This will happen if the "Update" folder was not removed from the application data folder after the first time the data update was run. (default location is C:\ProgramData\SOLIDWORKS Electrical\, but check your Tools>Application Settings> Database Tab for your install). The software is supposed to remove this automatically but sometimes it doesn't happen. Just browse to the application data folder in windows and delete it manually. The pop up will then go away.
Nice! That fixed it. Also worth mentioning is that ProgramData is a hidden folder, so you can't just browse to it in explorer. But it is super easy to copy it from the Database tab and paste it into explorer
