I am working on a small part in Solidworks with a threaded hole. The problem occurs when I try to make an extruded cut through the threads, it says "operation failed due to geometric condition". If I delete the threads I can made the cuts no problem.
Any suggestions for a solution?

Try to change the order: create extrude cut first and threaded holes next.
Without seeing the part we are speculating and here's mine. Is it possible you have a ZTG (Zero Thickness Geometry) problem. I could see this happening if the cut is tangent to the outside edge of the thread.
Thanks for the input everyone but I found the problem. The original pilot hole I made in the sketch for the thread was same as the thread OD (5mm). When I changed this to the thread ID (4.2mm), then the extruded cut worked OK.
I never had a problem before making the pilot hole same as the thread OD, because I never made a cut through it on my other designs.
