I need to change the configurations of a virtual part in an assembly through assembly's design table.

I tried using $CONFIGURATION@partname but it seems it only works for external parts and not virtual components.

A simple assembly with two configuration (A & B) is attached.

I need to change the configuration of Plate virtual part in A & B from the design table in the assembly.

Any kind of advice is much appreciated.
