Feature Tree description configuration etc. display question

    Aaron Kennison
      Hello everyone,

Is there a way (maybe through the API or something) to display additional custom property data beyond the built-in Tree Display options? What we want to achieve is to use a configuration driven fastener model to generate all the lengths we will use for a particular type. The issue is that they are all called PART NAME <CONFIG> (example: SHCS<3>) - we can't see the particular length or size (or whatever we want to see for a "description").

The issue for us is where do we put the information for Feature Tree display purposes while not either causing drawing BOM or title issues (DESCRIPTION is an all too commonly used SW variable)??? We're stumped... though I've seen exactly what we're after in a demo. The part was displayed as BLAH BLAH BLAH SHCS (M6x15) <<<< the BLAH BLAH BLAH SHCS portion of the name was the same for all fasteners of the same type (because they were the same model), yet the (M6x15) made visual ID simple... we can't figure out how to make the configuration more "descriptive".

What are we missing?

Many thanks in advance...
