Hello. Can anyone tell me how to display the "File Properties" window, the "Custom" tab (on VBA)?
Hi Konst - Do you mean this one?
2016 SOLIDWORKS API Help - FileSummaryInfo Method (IModelDoc2)
The macro recorder is often useless, but it can work pretty good to discover/remember methods
Alternately you could use 2016 SOLIDWORKS API Help - RunCommand Method (ISldWorks)
I think the difference is that using the first method control is returned to the macro only after the user exits the dialog.
Stepping through this code will illustrate the difference
Dim swApp As Object
Dim Part As Object
Dim boolstatus As Boolean
Dim longstatus As Long, longwarnings As Long
Set swApp = _
Set Part = swApp.ActiveDoc
swApp.RunCommand swCommands_File_Summaryinfo, ""
Thank you, Rob! This is exactly what I needed!
You can explain: usually everywhere write "Set swApp = Application.SldWorks", and you - "Set swApp = _" But it works?
The macro was created with the macro recorder, and that's just how it does it - I dont know why sorry.
But Adding ' _' (space underscore) is just allowing you to write a line of code that spans several lines so it's just the same really
I use it quite often to make my code easier to read, but I'm not sure of the benefit here.
Thank you, Rob! I understood.
And can I make it so that when the "File Properties" window is open, the "Custom" tab is active? The macro recorder did not help in this.
