The closest I have got is by using Offset Text but I'd prefer no extra lines.
Is it possible to hide them?
Horizontal Text breaks the dimension line
Aligned text is not so good when the dims are small
This has been one of the things that have bugged me since day 1 with Solidworks. We do NOT have the ability to make dimensions look the way we want. We only have the ability to select an over arching standard, then a couple of minor tweaks.
I am fine with the overall "Standard" However, give us options for each and every possible setting. I like how CATIA V5 does it: Options for each and every possible setting.
However, Is this what you might want?
I just changed the standard to ANSI for linear dimensions and then selected "Offset Text" in the flyout.
Does that have to be done with individual dimensions? I'm just asking because Ordinate Dimensions might look better. I use them often for situations like that.
Yes an Ordinate would be a good but I really need to show them individually.
Hey Dan Thanks!
Switching to ANSI worked a treat - if you move the dim in close the connecting line magically disappears.
