Can anyone tell how to check the permit box in the PDM Task Host Configuration?
When we log in as a administrator the checkbox is also grayed out.
Hi I meant log into PDM as the Admin user on that computer.
Hello you need to have the Administrative Permission : "Can accept tasks to execute on a host" checked:
That is strange. All the user groups in the Administration tool has no boxes checked in the Administrative Permissions section.
So, it looks like that this setting in on another level?
For example, the Mechanical Engineers group can execute tasks, but no box is checked.
Check if any of them have that permission set at the user level.
As far I know that is the setting you need to be able to have your computer act as a task host.
Just thinking about it, it may also have been the case that a administrator logged into PDM on their machine to enable the task host configuration, and not the user themselves. So in that case they users (Mechanical Engineers) wouldn't need that permission.
Make sure the machine you want to execute the task on is supported as well. Open the task's properties from the Administration tool, then under "Execution Method" check the boxes next to the appropriate machine name(s):
Austin, In this list the computer appears when the permit box of the Task Host Configuration is checked. So, first I need to know how I can check that box.
Prasad, at user level there are also no boxes checked. And when a system administrator logs in, It is also not possible to check the permit box in the Task Host Configuration.
Almost right. The logged in PDM user needs PDM Admin rights.
After that it is possible to check the permit box in the Task Host Configuration window on that computer.
I think when you log in as Admin user, it is also possible to change the permit setting.

My mistake. All I know is that every time we add another user, I struggle to remember everything that needs to be checked in order to get this to work for them.
