How can we remove computers from the task execution list other than by unchecking in task host management (computers have been otherwise disposed)?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks
Hi Daniel, the list of hosts is maintained in the PDM Vault Database, under the table dbo.taskhosts
You can edit the entries in the table to remove any task host computers that no longer exist
See Solution S-054379 in the SolidWorks Knowledge Base for more details.
Thanks Prasad, Unfortunately I can't get a hit on that solution in the knowledge base?
Hi Daniel, I have pasted the text from the solution here:
When a task host is enabled it will store the host name in the file vault database table "Hosts" and be displayed under the "computers supporting a task" list when configuring tasks. In the event the host is no longer on the network (for example system is renamed), the hostname will remain in that table. To remove the obsolete host do as follows:
1) In the administration tool, open the "Task List", sort by "host" column and remove all completed tasks linked to the host name you wish to remove.
2) Using SQL management studio, back up the vault database.
3) Expand databases, tables, right-click table "dbo.Hosts", select "Edit top 200 rows".
4) Select the row containing the hostname you wish to remove and delete the row. (if it fails with constraint error, make sure all tasks linked to the host are removed from the task list in step1).
We removed them by deleting them from the table HostReactors.
