I was given a single "dumb solid" of an aircraft door which has two sections of honeycomb which neck down to thin flanges. I am trying to cut the solid into honeycomb solids and solid thin flange area solids for a steady state thermal analysis I have been asked to perform. I tried a 3dsketch of the profile of one on the honey comb areas and the mold functions to try and split the solid into 2 solids with no luck. I also created a knitted surface of the edge faces of one of the honeycomb areas and extended the surface top and bottom so it extended beyond the door solid to try and cut the solid with no luck as well. Any ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated.
