Whenever I try to flat pattern certain components in a sheet metal - I get multiple errors in red. SW 2018.
The ''multiple errors'' is probably just the same error reimpacting itself on all sheets.
Open your part and take a screenshot from the tree, there should be something red in there. I can't do it since I'm on 2016
Find what's red in the tree and fix it and you should be good to go forward.
I'm on SW2017, so I also have to guess.
Since this is a multiple body part file, I can't tell which body is first.
So what are you trying to mirror? There's only a base flange above it.
The error message is fairly clear: you're mirroring about a plane, so the thing you're trying to mirror can't be done.
It may be your modelling approach may need to be revisited.
Why not model each part separately and then assembly them?
Generally makes fabrication routing easier.
Hi - it's strange because the actual components that are mirrored really are not causing the problems (I think). The first part in the weldment / assembly is the part that is mirrored. I have posted a pic of the part that is mirrored.
In the new mirror2.jpg, the mirror op isn't an error anymore.
So does that mean your part is okay now?
Also, as Alex Lachance mentioned, you had multiple views in red because it's just one part and any one error will flag all even though they're body views.
Hi - the part / model opens up just fine. As soon as I hit the rebuild icon the error pops up. Almost like it's a software bug or something similar..
Which service pack of SW2018 you're using?
I'm seeing no issues in the model. Os can you attach the drawing or suggest which particular configuration is giving issues.
Hi - and thanks for helping. Open the model, use the default config and just hit the rebuild icon. That throws up the error for me.
I'm not able to see the error with force rebuild even with VOR on. BTW I'm using SW2018 SP 2.0
Hi, and thanks again. I have uploaded another file to test. I open this file - it opens in the bottom view. As soon as I hit the rebuild icon it errors out (I'll add a screen shot).
Still no errors for me. I've attached the file saved from my machine (please roll o end).
Hello again - now that's very strange. I opened up the file and hit rebuild and nothing, no errors at all.
OK - if you could try one last thing. Open the new drawing file named 'pack & go. From sheet 1 open the model. Hit rebuild.
I still do not see any errors OR not able to reproduce them (both with rebuild and force rebuild). Please submit the issue to your VAR
Like Deepak Gupta I am not able to reproduce your error and I am using SW2018 SP1.0. When is the last time you ran system maintenance on your computer?
