I am having trouble using the mate controller in SW2016 to hold a sub-assembly in position when the assembly is saved.

I know how to save new positions within the mate controller feature.

What I need is to have the mate controller maintain that position in the assembly after the assembly is saved. What I am currently seeing is that if I save the assembly and re-open it later, the Mate Controller reverts back to the default position of the mate within the original sub-assembly. I can then re-select the mate controller position that I saved earlier and it will switch but I don't like having to do this every time.

Does anyone know of a way to do this or do I need to wait until we move to 2017 where I can create configurations?
