2018 Seems to be Excessively Rebuilding

I got my machine updated from 2016 to 2018 recently and '18 seems to be excessively rebuilding when ever I edit anything in context. If I edit a part in context, change something as simple as a dimension, even before I exit out of the edit SW starts to rebuild the part and the assembly it's in over and over again. It seems like it is over and over because the feature count in the rebuild progress box is always the same. It will do this 8-10 times every time which can take ~30sec or more. It seems to have to rebuild everything. I'm afraid to hit save all as that takes forever. this is an assembly I've work on in 2016 and never had these problems. I have never used the freeze function and never needed to. I'd rather find out what is wrong or different in '18 and fix that if possible.

Has anyone else had this happen?
