What version and SP of SW are you using?
Joel's solution is valid if you are on SW2008 and above. With
SW2008 new UI, unless you have turned it off, you get the Context
Sensitive pop-ups when you select items. One of those is Open and
you do not need to move the mouse miles to open a part.
Since you do not give us this info it is tough to help you with a
possible solution that may already be in SW.
Add info on your system and version of SW, like in my signature, to
your forum profile and you will get more appropriate responses
based on what version of SW you have installed.
