Creating splines on a surface but lining them up on one axis

    Nicole Tedeschi
I have a curved surface I would like to draw a rectagular shape on but I can not get the points to line up alone the z axis so it is a straight line. How do I get all the points to be alone one axis. I tried to do that but the relationship was not allowed. how do you take curvature out of a spline? any help would be great.

If you want control of the rectangle shape in the world space, then I suggest you use a "projected curve" onto the surface.

If you are drawing a curve on surface you cannot make any relations to the space "outside" the surface the curve is on. This is why you cannot align the curve to any of the the "world" axis. Surface space is really a two dimensional space determined by the surface topology and defined by the directions "u and v", not xyz.
