Can anybody elaborate on integration of solidworks electrical design with exisitng ERP database? How it can be done?
Namita, if you go to Library, there is an ERP section
The basic steps are to specify the ERP database you are connecting to, include username & password. Then in the part or cable section you can map up to 20 fields from your ERP into User data field in Electrical by choosing the customize tab. If the ERP is operational, you will see an ERP section in your Manufacturer Parts library and your Cable library. Hope that gets you started!
FYI, this is a focus in the Electrical Advanced curriculum, seek out your local support crew to see if they can spend some time training you on this!
Thanks for this reply! ( I know i am late to say this:))
I was trying the steps from advanced curriculum. But unfortunately, the customer's ERP did not allow me to connect.
So mapping the fields was not possible. Anyways..will try again later for someoen else!
Could you tell bit more about the 'Default database (SOLIDWORKS Electrical)' ? it looks like SWE will connect to its own default ERP DB, somewhere. how that works?
It used to be the way of "activating" the manufacturer part User Data. It's less important since in the recent versions User Data on parts is simply available.
